Persistence, authenticity, community, loyalty. They’re all words that come to mind for me when I think about the great Popboomerang Records.

After two years in the wilderness, it looks like my first gig back might actually be going ahead on Wednesday 2 March at the Bundalaguah-Myrtlebank Hall in Gippsland.

Over the last 20 and a bit years, I’ve been lucky enough to have worked with a lot of good people who’ve trusted me enough to add something or other to their songs and recordings, quite separate to my own.

It’s been more than 18 months since an old friend Brett from Sale texted me about doing a gig at the once quaint and now much-loved Bundalaguah Hall, here in Gippsland.

I can still remember the first time I met my friend Scotty Thurling. It was before or after a gig at the Punters Club Fitzroy with my band P76, circa ‘99 or 2000.
